Kitchen Trends to Forget About in 2017

Nov 4, 2016

A new year is edging closer and it’s the perfect timing to renew your kitchen and give it a whole new look for 2017. Upcoming kitchen design is all about stepping outside of the box, with both homeowners and designers stepping out of their comfort zone to create show-stopping kitchens. So, you might not see your traditional kitchen trends in next year.

Here are some trends of the trends that are declining as 2016 ends:

Short cabinets. Instead, go for a longer cabinet that creates the illusion of a bigger kitchen. This new trend is perfect for small kitchens, just trade in your cabinets for longer ones and imagine all the extra space you can have in your kitchen with this trend.

Dark brown wood and paint colors. As we saw with the explosion of white kitchens in 2016, dark kitchen features are less and less popular. 2017 is going to be all about being bigger and brighter. So, forget about that dark paint and accessories, trade them for neutral colors like white, gray, pearls, and bring on some acrylic white cabinets. Bring the light to your kitchen and make it look more spacious.

Speckled granite. While granite will never go out of style, not all homeowners can afford natural stone or its upkeep. Many are now embracing quartz and butcher block countertops that are easier to maintain. Plus, the possibilities with these materials are endless!
